## Narrative

An employee and his co-worker had completed maintenance work on the green chip bin machine when they noticed that a guard was not properly installed. When the employee tried to properly re-adjust it, the guard made contact with a moving part thereby shifting the guard. The employee's right thumb was caught between the guard and a handrail. He was admitted to the hospital where he was treated for his broken right thumb.
