## Narrative

An employee was giving hand signals to a powered industrial truck (PIT) operator who was pushing pipe around the yard. When he motioned the operator to lower a bundle, his hand was caught between the fork of the PIT and the pipe bundle, lacerating and fracturing his right thumb.
