## Narrative

An employee was trying to de-energize the medium voltage temporary switchgear. He was pulling down on the knife switch, which was spring loaded, and thought the switch completed the action to the "open" or off position when the knife switch sprung back up, striking him on the right side of the face. He was hospitalized with a laceration to the corner of the mouth, a fractured eye socket, and a damaged tear duct.
