## Narrative

An employee was holding a grade stick for a foreman to check the grade of elevations when an excavator driver rotated the equipment, causing the excavator bucket hook pipe to be spring loaded. The hook pipe then struck the employee, who sustained a contusion to the left side below the waist/hip.
