## Narrative

An employee was troubleshooting an air conditioning unit from a ladder. As he reached up to retrieve his phone, his finger entered the belt and pulley of the unit. He suffered an avulsion that resulted in an amputation of his left middle fingertip at the knuckle, just behind the nail.
