## Narrative

An employee was helping with maintenance on a waste conveyor belt in a sawmill. The conveyor started unexpectedly; the employee lost their footing and their hand contacted a pulley, which caused the amputation of the employee's left ring fingertip. The pulley was unguarded at the time.
