## Narrative

On June 23, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., an employee and co-workers were mowing grass at a solar panel site when the employee's riding mower got stuck. The employee connected the mower-mounted winch to a post to free the mower. When the employee engaged the winch, the cable wrapped around his thumb and was pulled taut, resulting in an amputation of the employee's left thumb at the first knuckle below the fingertip.
