## Narrative

A crew was removing a white pine tree. A piece (about 16 feet long and 11 inches thick) had been cut from the tree and was being lowered to the ground when it struck a large rock, changed direction, and struck one of the employees, who was standing about 40-50 feet away from the base of the tree.
