## Narrative

An employee was operating a backhoe to dump dirt into a 5-foot excavation. The employee was alerted that the vehicle was on soft ground, so she reversed the backhoe to move onto more solid ground. The backhoe drove over a soft spot of dirt and began to tilt. The employee jumped off the backhoe, which continued to tilt and rolled over onto its side. The employee was caught between the rollover protection structure of the backhoe and the ground, resulting in a fractured pelvis that required surgery.
