## Narrative

An employee was checking for hail damage on a roof. He was ascending a ladder to the second-story roof when the ladder gave way and he fell, contacting the first-story roof and then falling to the ground. He sustained eight cracked ribs, a collapsed lung, a neck laceration, and a shoulder injury. He was hospitalized.
