## Narrative

An employee was running a sand core machine. She went to check the sand level in the sand magazine. The machine cycled and her right middle finger was caught between the blow head (vertical clamp) and the sand magazine. The employee sustained a distal fingertip avulsion of soft tissue and an amputation without loss of bone.
