## Narrative

The injured employee was helping a brake press operator handle large plates. A jib crane was used to lift the parts, but two operators were needed to position the plates. The die broke while 1-inch thick parts were being bent on a 5-inch dimensioned die. This caused a part being fabricated to kick back and strike the injured employee. The employee sustained a broken left femur, requiring hospitalization and surgery.
